Public Awareness Radio PSAs

Radio is a powerful vehicle to reach Spanish-speaking community members. The PSAs below are all downloadable for you to email and share with your local radio stations for earned/donated placement. You can also place them on your organization's website or social media, and distribute them to partners to use as tools as well.

Public Awareness Radio PSAs-Building Interest in PLanting and Caring for Trees

Building understanding of the important benefits trees provide is critical to increase interest in tree care and planting trees among Latino audiences. These radio PSAs feature culturally driven points of interest that may resonate most with Latino community members. The call to action is the main campaign website: visit NuestrosEspaciosVerdes.org.

Note: These 60-second radio PSAs are ready for broadcast as-is. They are also “evergreen” to be aired anytime during the year, and in any regional in the US or internationally.

  • Los Valores de Árboles / Value of Trees (0:60) mp3 | script: Multiple community members voicing benefits they get from trees, and the importance of caring for trees.
  • Regala un Árbol, Regala Vida / Tree Stewardship (0:60) mp3 | script: Trees can play a large role in reducing harmful pollution and increasing clean air for those living with asthma.

Local Event Promotions-Customizable Radio PSAs (20 seconds open to record your local event info)

Promoting your Nuestros Espacios Verdes Día a Día events on Spanish-language radio will help to increase awareness of your events, and potentially increase the number of participants!  These PSAs focus on the value of trees and stewardship but leave room for local information to be added.

  • Invertir en parques y jardines / Invest in Parks and Gardens (0:60) mp3 | script: Recorded in a friendly tone of voice, this PSA encourages listeners to care for trees, because they improve the quality of life for families.  The intro ends with an invitation to care for green spaces.  Local information about activities should follow.
  • Responsibilidad con Nuestros Espacios Verdes / Stewardship of Our Green Spaces (0:60) mp3 | script: Every day more Hispanic families are participating in the protection of green spaces.  This PSA encourages listeners to participate in the preservation of trees as an activity that the entire family can be a part of.  Local information about tree planting events should follow.

How Local PSAs Work:

After the 0:30 intro, this PSA has 0:20 seconds of music to allow a voice over recording for local event information to be added.  If you are working with a radio station or have an in-house media person, it is easy to mix in a local voice-over.  It is recommended that you focus the script on the event information, such as time and date and a telephone number where the listeners can obtain more information.
