Friends of Minekill and Max V. Shaul State Park | Public Lands Every Day

Friends of Minekill and Max V. Shaul State Park supports the operations of the parks by increasing public awareness of the Park facilities, promoting educational programs that encourage the protection and conservation of natural resources, and providing outdoor recreational activities for all visitors.

Friends of Minekill and Max V. Shaul State Park received a 2014 NEEF Public Lands Every Events grant to support the following events:

  • Summer Festival – families and children will enjoy a fun, festive atmosphere centered around a olympic size swimming pool with a swim meet, fly fishing demonstrations, and more (July 19).
  • Toe Jam – families and children will enjoy a festival and music "Jam session" at a campground with live music, a water‐gun hayride, and face painting (Aug. 2).
  • Snow Fest – a festival that will include presentations on outdoor preparedness and survival, a snowshoe hike, snowmen building contest, and ice skating (Feb. 7, 2015).

Through the support of Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc., Public Lands Every Day was launched in 2011 to encourage more Americans to enjoy, protect and maintain our public lands every day through public engagement, professional development and partnerships.
